My coaching philosophy centers around the phrase and title of a Marshall Goldsmith book, “What got you here won’t get you there.” I think the skills and behaviors that got you to your current level, won’t get you to that next level. I also say that those ‘next level’ skills and behaviors will feel uncomfortable. If you find yourself on a daily basis feeling comfortable and competent, then perhaps you’re missing growth opportunities.
